Hot Stones Massage
Indulgent | Warming | Relaxing
A hot stones massage uses the same techniques as a Swedish body massage but the therapist also uses hot, volcanic stones to warm tight muscles. The stones are heated in water or steam and placed on specific points around the body, usually on areas of dense muscle tissue such as the shoulders and back.
The heat from the stones penetrates into the muscle and helps to disperse tension.
This makes the superficial and deeper muscles relax and the massage therapist can then give a deeper massage. Sometimes the massage therapist also uses the stones during the massage.
As with a Swedish Body massage the therapist will begin by asking a series of questions about your health and what you want from the treatment session. It is a good idea to mention to the therapist if you have any particular areas of tension that you want them to focus upon.
After completing the consultation the therapist will leave you in the treatment room so that you can undress and get comfortable on the treatment couch. There will be towels for you to use to cover yourself with. During the massage the therapist will use the towels to cover your body and protect your modesty.
Our therapists are fully qualified, have professional indemnity insurance, are Police checked and members of a relevant professional body that requires them to undertake continuing professional development. They are extremely skilled in their therapies.
Tried it, loved it
Here’s what some of our clients have said……….
“I had my first a hot stones massage recently at the Phoenix. Although I was a bit nervous when I got there the friendly receptionist put me at ease and the massage was very relaxing. I loved it and definitely recommend people to give it a try!”
