Referred Massage

The massage therapies we offer can improve your mental, physical and emotional health

We offer a subsidised service for people who have chronic mental, physical and emotional health issues and low incomes. Conditions include depression, stress & anxiety to more physical conditions such as chronic pain, Parkinson’s disease, chronic fatigue syndrome or forms of cancer.

If you would like to receive treatments here, ask your Doctor, a medical professional, healthcare practitioner or support worker to refer you to us.

We will contact you once your referral has gone through, then you can book

50mins, 1 treatment per week (Mon-Fri between 10am-3pm)

Reiki, Reflexology, Relaxation Massage, Deep Tissue Massage, Indian Head Massage, Lymphatic Drainage

£20-£30 per treatment (to be agreed before first treatment)

The Referral Process:

  • Your Doctor/healthcare practitioner/support worker needs to contact us to make the referral
  • They will pass on your contact details and explain the reason for the referral. To do this, they simply ring 0113 234 0818 – it will take just a few minutes.
  • We will call you to confirm we have received your referral and give you further information about our service. We will also agree the cost of your treatments.
  • You can book your first appointment! If you are unsure which treatment will suit you, a relaxation massage is a great place to start.

There is no waiting list for this service – you can book straightaway or call us back to book at a time that suits you.

What to expect:

  • When you arrive at Phoenix, you’ll be greeted by our friendly Reception team
  • Your therapist will come to you and take you to your room
  • They will ask you a few questions to help understand what you’d like from the treatment
  • The therapist will then leave you for a moment so you can undress (if required) and get comfortable
  • During your treatment, you can talk to your therapist as much or little as you would like to, including feedback on the treatment
  • After your treatment, the therapist will leave the room for a moment to let you get dressed (again, if required) and bring you a glass of water
  • They will share after-care tips tailored to you

Our Therapists:

  • Highly skilled in their specialist therapies
  • Motivated by helping others feel good
  • Will openly explain if they think that you would benefit from a different treatment type (even if that means with one of our other therapists)
  • Give easy-to-do aftercare to maximise the benefits of your treatment (sometimes this is: “have a long, lovely bath…”)
  • Fully qualified
  • Have professional indemnity insurance and police checked
  • Members of a relevant professional body that requires them to undertake continuing professional development
