Policy Statement

Phoenix Health and Wellbeing is committed to ensuring that modern slavery, in all its forms, has no place in our organisation or in our wider supply chains.
We recognise our responsibility to take a robust approach to preventing slavery and human trafficking and are committed to acting ethically and with integrity in all our relationships and operations.

Our Commitment

We are a charitable social enterprise based in the UK, providing counselling and complementary health services to support mental and physical wellbeing. We operate in accordance with the values of dignity, respect, fairness, and inclusion. These values underpin our commitment to opposing all forms of modern slavery, including:
    • Forced labour
    • Child labour
    • Human trafficking

1. Employment Practices

    • We comply fully with UK employment law and provide fair wages and working conditions for all staff.
    • We carry out appropriate pre-employment checks and do not charge employees fees to gain or retain work.
    • All employees and volunteers work voluntarily and are free to leave their roles with reasonable notice.

2. Suppliers and Contractors

    • While we operate in a low-risk sector, we aim to work only with suppliers and contractors who share our values.
    • We expect our partners to uphold the same high standards and take steps to identify and address modern slavery risks within their operations.

3. Training and Awareness

    • We ensure that relevant staff and trustees are aware of modern slavery risks and know how to raise concerns.
    • Safeguarding training includes awareness of potential indicators of exploitation among clients or suppliers.

Reporting Concerns

We encourage staff, volunteers, clients and suppliers to report any concerns about modern slavery or unethical practices, without fear of retaliation.
