Soft Tissue Therapy is a form of Swedish massage that uses advanced techniques to target specific injuries or problems.

Soft Tissue Therapy (sometimes known as Sports Massage) helps maintain, change and rehabilitate the soft tissues of the body including muscles, tendons and ligaments. Each treatment is tailored to the outcomes you want for your body. For example, reducing muscle pain and tension or injury prevention.

It is suitable for anybody wishing to prevent or recover from soft tissue injury, tension or pain caused by work, physical activity or chronic health issues.

Before the treatment begins the therapist will ask a series of questions to ascertain which techniques to use and which areas of the body to treat.

It is sometimes the case that an ache in one area of the body is caused by tension in another and so the therapist may work on an area that seems to be unrelated.

This initial consultation with the therapist is very important and you should give as much information as possible about the specific issues that you need to have addressed.  In particular if you have an injury or muscle pain try to think about when the pain started. What did you do to cause the injury? Did something happen that triggered the pain?  This type of information will help the therapist in preparing your treatment plan.

After completing the consultation the therapist will leave you in the treatment room so that you can undress and get comfortable on the treatment couch.  There will be towels for you to use to cover yourself with.  During the massage the therapist will use the towels to cover your body and protect your modesty.
