Azam Imani

I enjoy working with people from a variety of different backgrounds and communities. I am especially interested in how individuals are impacted by culture and community.  I believe that each individual has their own unique strengths and abilities and with the right support can overcome their difficulties.  It is my role as therapist to help each client identify and explore their feelings, thoughts and challenges in a warm and safe environment.   In this way I help them to find the best pathway through their difficulties.  Over many years I have witnessed that, by providing an appropriate therapeutic relationship and by using therapy skills, even deeply traumatised and depressed clients can transform to being more in control of their lives.

I am a member of the BACP (British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy) and work in accordance with their ethical framework and professional conduct and procedures. I can work in English, Farsi and Azeri Languages.
