Referred Acupuncture

Our acupuncture clinic is now running each Friday from 10am until 4pm.  If you want to book or enquire please call us on 0113 2340818

Traditional Chinese Medicinal Acupuncture (TCM) has been found to be beneficial for many health conditions and can also promote deep relaxation

We offer a subsidised service for people who have chronic mental, physical and emotional health issues and low incomes. Conditions include depression, stress & anxiety to more physical conditions such as chronic pain, chronic fatigue syndrome or forms of cancer.

If you would like to receive acupuncture here, ask your Doctor, a medical professional, healthcare practitioner or support worker to refer you to us.

We will contact you once your referral has gone through, then you can book

1 x treatment per week, 6 treatments in total - after this, cost may be subject to change

The Referral Process:

  • Your Doctor/healthcare practitioner/support worker needs to contact us to make the referral
  • They will pass on your contact details and explain the reason for the referral. To do this, they simply ring 0113 234 0818 – it will take just a few minutes.
  • We will call you to confirm we have received your referral and give you further information about our service. We will also agree the cost of your treatments.
  • You can book your first appointment!

What to expect:

  • When you arrive at Phoenix, you’ll be greeted by our friendly Reception team
  • Your acupuncturist will come to you and take you to your room (this will have 2 or 3 beds set up in it)
  • They will ask you a few questions to help understand what you’d like from the treatment
  • Acupuncture is a targeted treatment, so you will only need to remove clothing in the area being treated. The acupuncturist will advise on this
  • Privacy screens are available should you like to have one
  • The acupuncturist will carry out the treatment and then leave you for a little while to let the treatment run it’s course. Often people drift off at this point, it is very calming
  • They will then come back in the room to remove the needles and bring you water. Again, privacy screens are available should you need to re-dress
  • They will share after-care tips tailored to you

Our Acupuncturist:

  • Highly skilled & experienced
  • Motivated by helping others feel good
  • Fully qualified
  • Have professional indemnity insurance and police checked
  • Member of a relevant professional body that requires them to undertake continuing professional development
